Arabian seafood with couscous
Most French people I meet here often cook couscous.
I decided to try it.
Although I've never cooked before, I've had it when I went to Moroccan restaurant in Jakarta.
I tried to remember the tast and texture.
I made fried fish with Indian spices. I mixed couscous together with shrimp, tomatoes, mushrooms and black olives. I wanted to add with fresh Italian parsley but I could not find it so I substituted fresh rocket. I used the perfect amount of each ingredient, and it was delicious.

My small dream will come true soon
Since I've come to Gatton, I've felt like playing golf.
I think it's becasue Gatton is in the country side and covered with green and it reminds me of golf.
And I've been looking for golfing equipment and someone to play with.
Finally I found both last Sunday. I met one fatherly gentleman who gave me new golf balls.
And we are going to play golf in the middle of Aug. I am so excited to play in Australia.
But I'm a little nervous because I haven't played in almost 1 year and especially putting will be disaster.Besides I don't know the person I will be playing with very well and I'm afraid if I won't be able to understand his English. And another problem is that I can't practice at all until I play since I don't have my own club and there isn't a good driving range here. Anyway, let's see how many times I will hit the balls!
Affectionate surprise
I've had a cold since last Sunday and it's been taking long time to be better.
And yesterday I felt it got worse so I went to bed evening.
Then I woke up at 3 am this morning, still feeling bad and found this letter from my Taiwanese flat mate.
She wrote in very polite Japanese ; Take this medicine, 1 tablet once 3 times a day after each meal, and I would like you to be fine soon.
Her handwriting is not very well but I saw she wrote it very carefully one by one.
When I found it I was surprised at her kindness because we were not so close friend and it made my heart warm. And finally, I'm getting better.

Smiled at noodles
I have one problem since I came to Australia. The problem is that it's difficult to find tasty noodles. I just don't want to buy again because of my bad experience with it.One time I bought singaporian noodles at Coles and it was the worst noodles I have ever had.Their taste, smell, and texture were totally wrong and disgusting. I had no idea how that food company could sell those noodles.
But I still wanted to have noodles and was bored with pasta.
Today, I found an interesting and easy way to get noodle. It is by making noodles from pasta.
When I found out how to do so, I was happy because I knew many Japanese people who live overseas have the same problem as me. They also have wanted to have noodles and had bad experiences with noodles from the supermarket.
The way is quite easy, just add a spoonful of baking soda when you boil pasta.
Boil it a little bit longer than the recommended time.
I used spaghetti and boiled it 2.5 minutes longer.
When I tried was at the recommended time the texture was still like spagetti.
But after 2.5 minutes passed, I smiled with the texture. It was interesting.
Baking powder can be a substitute for baking soda.
You can cook "Yakisoba", "Champon" and so on with this noodles.
I cooked something like damdam noodles without soup for this time and it was very nice.
I will try again with angel hair next time.

The reason why I chose this house
I had should choose a share house very shortly for a reason and fortunately I found an incredible lovely house.
It's close to town and my work place. Also flat mates are really kindly person although I don't understand at all what they're talking about since all of them are from Taiwan.
More than anything, the view from my room is amazing. I can see beautiful sunset from the window.
And many kind of birds which I've never seen before fly around my house. I feel like living in the national park.

I decided
It's been a long time that I didn't update this blog since the last time I wrote.
I thought about I quite this blog but I decided to start writing again.
I have another blog in Japanese Tommy のつぶやき( Tommy no tsubuyaki).
And I thought it's more useful for traveler to share my experiences in English.
So I will write here more and less in Japanese blog.
Also I felt that I need to write something in English to improve my English.
I was imspired by Eigo with Duke. This is a blog written by British man who learns Japanese.
At the first time he wrote, his Japanese was strange. But it's been getting better, and now it's almost perfect and really helpful blog for Japanese people who learn English.
I don't think I want to write contents like his blog but I thought to write in English will help my English improvement.
